Every few years I take a trip with our oldest daughter Sarah. Going away with Sarah has always been a wonderful experience. Our last trip was to Madrid and we had fabulous time as we explored this city, attended the bullfights, and watched flamingo dancing. Now in her twenties, I felt she was mature enough for us to speak transparently about our past. To assure that there was no bitterness, anger, or even resentment for some things I had done. I wanted our relationship to continue to move forward in a way, that would bless her. We talked about memories, negative feelings and we forgave each other.We were truly healed through the power of forgiveness. That night I thought of Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ has forgiven you.” Forgiving others isn’t an easy task, and doing so in love is even more problematic.
